Makayla Lavender

I am a health economist and an Assistant Professor at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. 

My research interests center around analyzing how people respond to public insurance and health policies.  I have research on subsidized insurance (Medicaid and Marketplace insurance), Medicare, pregnancy related outcomes, teen smoking behaviors, and foster children. 

I am also passionate about health insurance literacy. I get to teach my Health Economics students about this, and to share this information with a larger audience I have also posted some things in the blog section. Feel free to reach out with questions!
